Using the Williamson Front End
   Like the Split Load phase splitter, the Differential amplifier can be tweaked to deliver an unbalanced output that ultimately balances the output stage. Once again a capacitor bridges output to one phase of the output that feeds the output tubes. The purpose is to sample the output voltage so that tube T1's grid-to-cathode voltage matches that of T2. As the output moves in anti-phase to T1's grid signal, the output signal will subtract from the

input voltage presented to T1.
   The output stage in the schematic below functions like a Cathode Follower. Any attempt to force T2's cathode negatively from its idle voltage, will cause T2 to conduct more, thus pulling its cathode upward; while a negative pulse relayed to T1's grid through the capacitor C will cause T1 to conduct less, thus pushing its plate upward, which will force the output more positive.
